Why I started this blog
Well hello, aren’t you a curious one!
In this page I just want to put out some (incoherent) thoughts on why I created this blog.
First of all, let me clarify that I am by no means an otome game expert nor veteran. I started playing otome games during the 2020 lockdown – my first game was Amnesia: Memories. I played it on my phone (sigh). Seeing Toma caging the MC on my phone screen was a bizarre experience. 
Actually, scratch that. My first otome game was actually some random otome I played in middle school. The only thing I remember about it is that it was idol related. The MC had to manage two guys to stardom…something like that! But Amnesia was my first proper otome, and I only started playing on console (Switch) in 2022. So I’m kind of a newbie (?) I guess! 
I started this blog because I’ve always wanted to have some kind of side project aside from full-time work & adulting. I’ve always known I wanted it to be related to my hobby. At some point I actually wanted to start a BL blog (I still am a big BL fan!), but for some reason it just didn’t feel right. I am forever thankful to my BL obsession though, because it forced me to learn Japanese.
Other than a side project, I have always wanted to have a personal platform that I actually build from scratch. I want this blog to be a safe space to share my love for otome games, and interact with people who love it as much as I do. 
While Otomeology is still not perfect, I am really happy with the progress so far!
I thought a lot of what I can contribute to the otome community, given there are already amazing creators serving the community pretty much in full. I am also their consumer after all, LOL. In the end, I have come to terms that I might not be able to add anything special. But it’s not a crime to share things I like! So the blog content will be mostly personal. In saying that, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like me to cover something. I’m actually a very shy person, but I promise I’m super friendly.
