Otomate came out with a barrage of news over the weekend! Here is a summary of their announcements:
Wand of Fortune will be ported to Nintendo Switch!
Otomate has announced a new Switch port – Wand of Fortune R! The first game from the series, Wand of Fortune, was released for PS2 in 2009. A PS Vita port was released in 2016, with significant changes to the gaming system.
This is a stats raising game which will feature weekly scheduling system, map system, card game and partly voiced heroine.
Wand of Fortune R port will include the first game and its fandisc. The port for the sequel and its fandisc will likely come later in the year (thank you Nanami for clarifying!).
The scheduled release date is May 18, 2023.
The premise. Magic-themed otome. Lulu is a student at a magic school. Because of her poor magic skills and other troubles, she was forced to transfer to a different school. Soon after, she discovered a shocking fact… she doesn’t have the attribute of a magical girl! If she can’t find her attribute before she graduates, her magic power will need to be sealed. Will she be able to find it…?

Four upcoming Otomate titles with confirmed release date!
Otomate also annouced the release date for Princess Arthur, which will be May 25, 2023 (same date as Bustafellows Season 2!).
This means we have four Otomate titles with confirmed release dates this year: Senjou no Waltz (April 13), TsuiTsui (April 27), Wand of Fortune R (May 18) and Princess Arthur (May 25), at least to date. Get ready to be bankrupt I guess!
Of these, TsuiTsui is the only original release, while the other three are Switch ports.
I wrote an overview article on Japanese (unlocalised) otome games scheduled for 2023 and beyond, check it out if you are interested.
Updates on official websites and accounts!
Utakata no Uchronia’s official website is now live. Shameless plug, check out the spotlight article I wrote on this game!
Spade no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Black World~’s official website has been released.
9 R.I.P. official Twitter account and website are now available as well.
B’sLOG personal highlights
If you are unfamiliar with B’sLOG, they are a Japanese magazine brand which feature joseimuke content, mostly gaming-related stuff. Joseimuke: targeted for women.
Their latest release (2023年3月号) was freakin’ loaded, but here are a few things which caught my attention:
- Utakata no Uchronia character deep-dive. This month, they provided a snippet of conversation between Yashiro, one of the main male leads, with Hinagiku, the game protagonist. Two individual illustrations of Hinagiku and Yashiro by RiRi were also included, they are absolutely beautiful. Other characters will be featured over the next few B’sLOG releases.
- Spade no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Black World~ character information.
- New 9 R.I.P. visuals by Yuuya (my jaw dropped, seriously). It appears they will be releasing more information about this game in next month’s issue!
- TsuiTsui cast interview.
- Goemon and Sharaku (Tengoku Strugge) “with flower” illustrations.
I purchased a copy from Animate Bookstore (yes, they accept foreign credit card!).
